Who Can Volunteer ? Anyone.

We are happy to welcome student, the general public but if you do not have essential skills like : Brick Laying, Builder, Carpenter, Handyman, Electrician.... then you will need to fund raise 150 euros for the Rescue Centre to join us for up to 1 month in sunny Sicily. Raising Funds to Volunteer ? 150 euros

Volunteers need to raise 150 euros in order to qualify for up to a month stay with accomodation & meals at our Centre. You can choose which fund raising activities you want to do, prior to coming over. All funds raised go improving conditions for our dogs. See the '' Raising Money'' page.

Accommodation & Meals

We provide Accomodation, Breakfast & Lunch during your Volunteering with us. You can stay up to 1 month with us in Sicily but please get in touch with us to advise your dates as we group Volunteers up in organized trips. Accomodation will either be a room in our Centre or for the more adventurous, a tent in our grounds. We will provide all bedding. Our Centre is set just outside the town of Cianciana, surround by panoramic views of the Sicilian countryside. The climate is warm so it's perfect for camping. 

How Do I Get To Sicily ?

You are responsible for your flights. There are 2 low cost carriers to Sicily : Ryanair & Easyjet. The airports are Palermo or Trapani. We collect you from the Airport & return you to the Airport. Please contact us prior to booking flights so we can advise the dates each Group will be visiting us.

Cianciana - the local town

The Centre is just outside the local town of Cianciana. It's a 15 minute walk into town or borrow a moped or thumb a lift ( popular with local yound people). In the evenings & weekends you have time to enjoy Cianciana. It has several outdoor bars with music, 2 pizza places, 1 restaurant, pharmacy, doctors, small supermarkets, deli + live events throughout the summer. 

When Does the Program Run ?

The Volunteer Program runs from May - September each year. 

What Should I Pack ?

Toiletries. A towel. Swimming gear. Summer clothes. Comfortable sandals. A hat for sun protection. Sun creams ( factor 30+). Mosquito repellant. Torch. Your entertainment : Laptop/tablet + book, music, movies.

Wifi, Swimming Pool & other things Available

No we do not have Wi_Fi at the centre but the local town of cianciana has free wi-fi & there is a free PC with internet at the local Museum. We do have a swimming pool on the grounds for you to cool off. We can also arrange hire for a moped so you can ride to the local town or beach.

Working Hours & Time Off

Volunteers will typically work Monday - Friday in shifts to avoid the main day hot sun, with evenings & weekends off.  

Is There A Beach ? Things to do ?

There are 6 beaches all within a 25 minute drive from the Centre. There is a good cheap bus service running all over Sicily with regular buses to Palermo.  

There are also many great sights to explore in the surrounding area of the Centre: Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. Sciacca, a lively ancient town filled with pottery bars & boutiques. The market in Ribera, full of fresh Olives, Sardines, Spices & fake designer goods.
